Today and EVERYDAY at Urban Trendsetters we celebrate Black Culture. This week we celebrate the amazing life and journey of Dr. King with the UTS TV Premier of 2 special features.
UTS TV King week begins with King in the Wilderness tonight at 8pm. King in the Wilderness is an American documentary film about Martin Luther King Jr that premiered on April 2, 2018 on HBO, focusing on the final 18 months of his life leading up to his assassination on April 4, 1968 with some never-before-seen footage of interviews with those closest to him interspersed with historical archives during a period of his life when, in addition to upsetting both President Lyndon Johnson and the FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover as well as numerous other opposition groups, and despite his own self-doubts as King was literally staring death in the face, he refused to back away from the civil rights challenges of his times.
King in the Wilderness was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Historical Documentary at the 40th News and Documentary Emmy Awards.
On Tuesday, January 21st, Join us for our premiere of KING. Starring Paul Winfield and one of my favorite actresses and Icon Cicely Tyson, KING is a 1978 American television miniseries based on the life of Martin Luther King Jr., the American civil rights leader, and 1964 Nobel laureate. It aired for three consecutive nights on NBC from February 12 through 14, 1978.
